Crumb Patrol
Inspects the kitchen floor before anyone calls it breakfast.
Freshly walked every morning
Warm from the toaster. Ready for the sidewalk.
He sits by the toaster and watches the butter knife with professional concern.
One leash click sends the whole loaf directly to the front door.
At sunrise, Bread Inu takes position between the toaster and the front door. He studies butter like a suspect, then checks the hallway for keys. Nobody has confirmed whether he sheds fur or crumbs. Either way, the rug needs shaking, the leash needs untangling, and breakfast must wait until after one very square lap around the block.
Inspects the kitchen floor before anyone calls it breakfast.
Maintains one respectful tail-length from every glowing slot.
Cloudy with a strong chance of circling the same block twice.
Sniffs first, then sits where the warm square should land.
Waits beside the mat whenever keys begin making serious noises.
Cools on the rug until both ears return to room temperature.
Good loaf. Better dog.
